Glycolic Acid

What does it do?

Glycolic Acid is an AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) that exfoliates the skin to improve radiance and encourage smoother, softer skin. Glycolic Acid has the smallest molecular size of all the AHAs, which means it can penetrate deeper into the skin to stimulate collagen production.

Where does it originate from?

Glycolic Acid is derived from sugar cane and sugar beet.

When should I use it?

This ingredient can be used day and night.

What skin type is it best suited to?

Glycolic is best suited to mature skin to stimulate collagen production.

What does it work well with?

Glycolic Acid works well in a routine with Niacinamide to help boost collagen int he skin.

What should it not be used with?

You should avoid using Glycolic Acid and Retinol in the same routine to prevent causing damage to the skin barrier. Instead, use Glycolic Acid either in the morning or on an alternate night to your Retinol.

What else do I need to know?

AHAs can increase the skin's risk of sunburn, so it's important to apply SPF daily and limit sun exposure when using this ingredient.
